Meanwhile, below are a collection of links to selected guitar instructional books and guitar transcription folios penned by Dale Turner—books covering a diverse collection of styles ranging from rock, jazz, funk, blues, ska/reggae, and country, to an assortment of fingerstyle acoustic guitar approaches useful for singer-songwriters. My personal favorite is the one called POWER PLUCKING: A Rocker's Guide to Fingerstyle Guitar. I really tried hard to cram into its 80 pages (WAY over 100 examples, and over 30 minutes of audio on its accompanying CD) all sorts of piano-style accompaniment moves, modern arpeggio techniques, singer-songwriter Travis picking/folk approaches, open chord ornamentation, pedal point, percussive effects, capo concepts, hybrid picking, and a mass of "modern" sounding acoustic voicings that folks can use to "liven up" or "modernize" otherwise stale/boring chord progressions.
